 Extreme weather in Bali

Bali has 2 seasons, namely the rainy season and the dry season. The rainy season starts from the end of Ber, such as September-March.

In December, it only rains briefly, about 2 or 3 times a week. From November, the rain starts to develop, starting to increase its activity, indicating that it is already the middle of the season.

In December, the rain has started to get heavy but has not yet reached its peak.
Usually, starting from February, this is the peak of the rainy season, there will be rain accompanied by strong winds or what is called a storm. However, Bali's storms are not too big.

But in the end, the story is different. After the heat pierced the flesh in November, now there is a storm that has developed so big that several places have been hit by rain and tornadoes.

This extreme weather caused many trees to fall, landslides and residents' houses and infrastructure to be damaged when hit by a tornado, such as Bali, the western part of Jembrana which was devastated by a tornado.

Due to the extreme weather, many places have fallen trees because large trees store their water in the stems and leaves so that the trees cannot support the strong winds.

On 12/10/2024, a large tree fell which claimed the lives of tourists in the Ubud area, specifically in the Monkey Forest.

According to several local news sources, there were 2 dead victims who were tourists who visited this place and 3 injured, all of them were foreign tourists.

The 2 foreign tourists who died came from Korea and France and the process of repatriating the bodies is still waiting for their respective families.

and with this tragedy the monkey forest is temporarily closed until the next conference,
With this incident, it is highly hoped that foreign tourists and the entire population will be alert and careful about this extreme weather. so that all of us can be safe from danger.
