The Cave by Chef Ryan Clift: An Extraordinary Culinary Journey Beneath the Earth
The Cave by Chef Ryan Clift: An Extraordinary Culinary Journey Beneath the Earth
1. Origin of the Name
The name "The Cave" is straightforward yet descriptive—it comes directly from the location itself, a subterranean natural limestone cave. The addition of "by Chef Ryan Clift" signifies the culinary partnership with world-renowned British chef Ryan Clift (famous for Singapore’s Tippling Club), who curates and oversees the restaurant's gastronomy.

2. Purpose & Reason for Being Built
The cave was accidentally discovered in 2013 during the construction of a new villa at The Edge resort. Recognizing the historical, geological, and aesthetic uniqueness of this natural formation, the resort decided to preserve and transform it into an exclusive dining venue rather than sealing or altering it. The goal was to build a one-of-a-kind destination restaurant that seamlessly marries ancient natural wonders with avant-garde fine dining and modern visual storytelling.
3. Key Spots & Features Inside
Natural Limestone Chamber: The main dining space set inside an ancient cave adorned with preserved stalactites and stalagmites hanging from the walls and ceiling.
Intimate Dining Counter: A stylishly designed 22-seat dining area arranged along a subterranean counter, ensuring every guest has an unobstructed view of both the cave walls and the open finish area.
3D Projection Mapping Show: Between courses, the cave walls transform into an immersive canvas featuring 3D light and projection shows that tell stories of natural elements, earth history, and art.
4. Year of Establishment
While the subterranean cave was discovered in 2013, The Cave by Chef Ryan Clift officially opened for dining in May 2022.
